‭CONSULTANT MICROBIOLOGY‬

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assumes overall responsibility for the quality of service provided by the designated Laboratory Specialty, Division or Section.
• Completes with the Joint Commission International (JCI), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Health Care Institutions (CBAHI), ISO 15189, National Guard Laboratory & Hospital Standards are maintained and continuously improved. 
• Introduce new tests as per the needs of the current disease status in the National Guard Health Affairs, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on recent literature and evidence-based medicine.
• Oversees and actively participates in training programs for staff, medical technology students, interns, resident, fellows, master & Ph.D. students and participates in continuing education for staff physicians.
• Serve on Hospital and Departmental committees as assigned by Medical Services and/or Chairman.
• Ensures medical supervision and service coverage is available at all times.
• Oversees and actively participates in quality improvement and ensure strict adherence of all staff to hospital and laboratory policy and bylaws. 
• Encourages, cooperate and participates in approved research activities.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Chairman.

Education:

• Must be a graduate of recognized medical school and have American Board Certification in Pathology or equivalent with appropriate licensure to practice.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of years' experience in a CAP accredited laboratory after board certifications, this may include subspeciality training.  Subspeciality training is mandatory.

English Language: Level -I- Essential

Arabic Language: Essential

Computer Skills: Level -III-Essential
