DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST II

• Prepare models from dental impressions, fabricate special trays, bite blocks, base plates, orthodontic appliances, setup teeth, cure dentures and prepare them for insertion to include design, casting, finishing and polishing.
• Perform specialists’ level work and fabricate prostheses according to best practices. Consult with staff dentists regarding design, set-up or fitting devices, ensuring smooth and efficient operation and workflow and design and keep all necessary records of all performed work. Assist with adjusting removable prosthetic work and perform other prosthetic work as required.
• Produce dental laboratory procedures according to the guidelines and criteria established in the given specialty, i.e., Orthodontics, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics (full and partial), Esthetic Ceramic Restorations, etc.
• Keep all work areas clean and tidy. Ensure care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Requisition supplies and equipment through appropriate channels, assure adequate inventory and control within assigned area.
• Ensure quality control standards are adhered to at all times. Comply with all departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
