MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up and operate MRI scanners and related equipment to perform diagnostic examinations/procedures according to departmental protocols and report all equipment faults and errors to the immediate supervisor. Select the proper equipment, accessories and techniques to obtain the highest image quality.
- Perform diagnostic procedures for all patients as requested and ensure availability of images with required information in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and the Radiology Information System (RIS) immediately after completing the procedure according to departmental protocols and standards.
- Responsible for care and safety of patients during procedures. Review and comply with hospital and departmental policies and protocols. Participate in the implementation of the departmental strategic plan. Provide assistance in organizing, monitoring, coordinating and representing the provision of MRI services and developing the policies, procedures and protocols within the area of assignment.
- Participate in the quality improvement and research projects within the MRI section.
- Ensure communication with patients and staff is meaningful and professional. Maintain patient confidentiality, rights and privacy at all times.
- Responsible for safe handling of MRI scanners and equipment and related accessories. Follow established Radiation Protection measures for themselves, patients, other staff and the population in general. Follow safety orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation.
- Fully inform patients and/or relatives as to the nature of the procedure to be performed. Ensure correct patient identification and site verification checks are undertaken for each examination.
- Ensure all applicable licenses and /or trainings are maintained current. Ensure all staff follows established International Patient Safety goals.
- Participate in departmental in-services and lectures for staff and students related to the assigned area. Ensure that new staff receives proper level of training and orientation for the hospital, the department and the specific workplace.
- Represent the department by attending relevant committees as delegated. Provide a first level of problem solving and support for work related issues. Ensure scheduled work is completed before signing out.
- Perform other job-related duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support Certificate – Essential
Registration with Saudi commission for Health Specialties – Essential
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 (five) years’ position-related experience in MRI Scanning or similar field in
comparable setting/environment – Essential
Language and Computer Skills:
English Language: Level – I – Essential
