Respiratory Therapist

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Provide assistance in developing and modifying an appropriate Respiratory Care Management Plan in consultation with the treating physician and direct supervision of immediate supervisor and/or professional guidance of the senior therapist. Perform patient assessment including non-invasive monitoring and other non-invasive physiologic measurements. Monitor patient’s responses and modify therapies based on clinical/physiologic assessments and in consultation with the treating physician and professional guidance of the senior therapist.
•  Perform all routine Respiratory Care modalities and procedures, as indicated by the treating physician, with the direct supervision of the immediate supervisor and/or professional guidance of the senior therapist, such as, and not limited to:
⁻  Perform Basic Airway Management and clearance and Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for patients with artificial airways, in emergency and non-emergency situations. Provide an effective bag-valve-mask ventilation during Codes.
⁻  Perform Tracheotomy Tube Care as needed and coordinate patient weaning and corking with the physicians.
⁻  Administer Aerosolized Medications, in consultation with the treating physician.
⁻  Perform blood sampling via arterial puncture, and A-Line Insertion, if requested.
•   Ensure maintenance and safe operation of the equipment.
• Comply with JCIA standards, all recognized and approved infection and control safety protocols and MNGHA standards and policies. Ensure compliance with rules and legal regulations on patient care.

Competencies |

Accepted 12 CME hours – Essential

Current BLS and ACLS certificates – Essential

Professional Membership / Registered Respiratory Therapist – Preferred

Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential

Technical Exam Score - Essential
